From April 22nd to April 28th, the highly anticipated IMG Future Stars Tournament 2024 took place at the prestigious TATOΪ Club in Athens. Greece.
For the third consecutive year, the event brought together the top 48 under-12 players from all over the world. These young talents competed fiercely, not only for the tournament title but also for the coveted prize: two tickets to the Eddie Herr International Junior Championship (under 14) at the renowned IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
THE IMG FUTURE STARS TOURNAMENT 2024 BEGAN WITH A EXCITING EXHIBITION MATCH BETWEEN HOLGER RUNE AND TEAM CERUNDOLO’S DYNAMIC DUO, CHRIS SPYROU AND ALEXANDROS SKORILAS, ON MONDAY 22ND APRIL.
The trio dazzled the crowd with their impressive skills and camaraderie, keeping everyone on the edge of their seats!
Adding to the excitement, some lucky young athletes got the unforgettable chance to play doubles alongside their idols, making it a truly memorable start to the event.
After a week of intense matches, showcasing impressive tennis skills, passion, and raw talent, two champions emerged victorious!
Guo Ketong and Li Yanru, both hailing from China, triumphed in the girls’ and boys’ categories, respectively, earning their coveted spots in the Eddie Herr International Junior Championship Tournament.
Elizaveta Anikina from Estonia claimed the second position for the girls, while Daniel Gardality from the United States secured the runner-up spot for the boys.
All 48 young athletes, along with their parents and coaches, enjoyed a unique opportunity to attend workshops led by tennis pros, top international brands, sports experts, and IMG Tennis spokespeople, unlocking the secrets to forging a triumphant path in the world of tennis.
The week was filled with enjoyable activities and friendly challenges designed for the young athletes to unwind, bond, and have fun.
Participants also had the chance to experience the rich Greek culture firsthand, visiting landmarks such as the Parthenon and exploring the vibrant Athens City Centre, all while savouring authentic Greek cuisine.
