The inaugural IMG Future Stars Tournament took place from April 25th to May 1st 2022 at the state-of-the-art premises of the prestigious TATOÏ Club.
It included tennis matches between the best 48 players under 12 years old from 28 countries, as well as workshops and seminars from world-renowned coaches and brands.
An impressive Opening Ceremony and an exciting, sold-out Exhibition Match marked the beginning of the IMG Future Stars Tournament!
The top tennis players, Carlos Alcaraz and Hubert Hurkacz, competed in a spectacular exhibition match that kept us cheering for every shot.
Some lucky young athletes had the opportunity to participate in an exciting game of doubles, playing together with their idols, Carlos and Hubert, showing us what the Future of Tennis holds!
The young athletes competed for 5 days with passion for their dreams but also with respect for each other, impressing everyone with their skills and competed.
The winner of the Girls’ category was Joyce Geng, while Jordan Lee was the winner of the Boys’ category, securing their spot in the Eddie Herr International U14 Tennis Tournament, taking place at the IMG Academy, in Florida. Ksenia Ruchkina and Alexander Kunitsyn were the runners-up, making it to the finals and making every shot count.
All 48 children, their parents and coaches had the opportunity to attend workshops from tennis pros and legends, like Marcos Baghdatis, Riccardo Piatti, Nike, ATP & WTA representatives, as well as IMG Tennis spokespeople, who shared the secrets that will lead to a successful career in tennis.
Each day ended with fun activities and challenges for the young athletes to unwind, laugh and socialise.
All participants had the opportunity to experience the Greek culture and hospitality, by visiting the Parthenon and the Athens City Centre, while also tasting Greek delicacies.
